Delivering solutions on every waterway

Our background lies in the offshore industry, where we have provided our services at sea for 20 years. We support our clients with large and small projects around the world. Additionally, we also operate on inland waters, allowing us to work in any area where there is water.

Our Flagship: Navicula Star

The Navicula Star is our flagship for projects in the Wadden Sea and coastal areas. This former sea research vessel, which served the NIOZ for 44 years, is perfectly suited for shallow water research.

Powering innovation

With its shallow draft and ability to dry out, the Navicula Star is ideal for scientific research and civil works, such as cable installations on the beach. Equipped with davits, a telescopic crane, and an A-frame with two winches, the vessel can deploy a wide range of tools and equipment, making it highly versatile.

Smart Vessel Solutions

Smart Vessel Solutions helps Freestar elevate its maritime operations. By collecting detailed data from our vessels, we can improve and accelerate decision-making, leading to reduced operational risks and increased efficiency.

Remote operations

Remote Operations (RO) are becoming increasingly common, even underwater. With ROVs operated remotely, a large part of subsea inspections, surveys, and light interventions can now be conducted from a distance.

Although this technology is not yet standard for heavier tasks, the trend is clear: RO is the future for inspection and survey work, both for local seabed systems and Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) operations.
